THANK YOU, PITTSBURGH!
OTR XXIII is in the books, but there's still a buzz in the air from the Oct. 12th show, and not just from those pesky lanternflies!
There are always SO MANY THANK YOUS to give, and we'll surely forget some folks, but let's start with our indefatigable producer Sharon Eberson
Axelrod and our talented and tenacious director Chris Laitta. Two amazing dynamos without whom we would not have had a show!
Thanks to our music director Nick Stamatakis, associate Ben Brosche, and all of the musicians who worked on the show, stage manager Jessica Haidet and assistant stage manager Britt Kolek, for all of your hard work and talent!
Thanks to the amazing cast. There were so many outstanding performances, we can't name everyone, but they ALL deserve another round of applause. The work that you put in, and the talent you brought to the stage, were unbelievable.
Thank you to the writers and the songwriters, to the crew backstage, to Tenique Mathieu who did our projections, to all the workers at the Byham, the volunteers who served food and helped set everything up and take it down. Thank you to the people behind the scenes who raised money (special shout out to the tireless Jamie Hudzik), helped with publicity, and donated their time and effort to doing everything imaginable to pull this annual miracle off.
Thanks our sponsoring unions - Ohio/Pittsburgh SAG-AFTRA, the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh and the United Steelworkers - and all of their members and leaders for your invaluable and unwavering support to this cause.
Thanks to our major sponsors - especially UPMC Health Plan, KeyBank, Seneca Resources Company, LLC, Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN), Walnut Capital, CCAC Culinary Arts, Gatto Associates LLC, Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, Alihan's Mediterranean Cuisine.
Finally, to ALL of the people in Pittsburgh who keep showing up to support OTR, to help us laugh at ourselves and to raise money for our friends at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank - much love to you all!! SEE YOU IN 2024!!
It's All Off the Record!
Off the Record Pittsburgh has been satirizing Pittsburgh's news and newsmakers since 2001. And we do it all for a good cause, to benefit Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.Save the Date: Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023
Off the Record Pittsburgh will return to the Byham Theater in Downtown Pittsburgh again this fall with: "Off the Record XXIII: A.I - It's a Real Drag!" Save the date of Thursday, October 12, 2023, and keep checking back here and on our social media channels for more information as tickets and show details become available. See you in October! The Off the Record Mission
We are here to have fun - and to raise money for a good cause. Over the years, Off the Record has raised more than $600,000, primarily for Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, as well as for local scholarship funds and other worthy causes. In the midst of the Covid pandemic, the OTR family produced two online-only shows that raised more than $50,000 to feed our neighbors in need. We couldn't do any of it without the talented people on stage and behind the scenes, or without the audience that keeps coming back year after year. Thank you, Pittsburgh!
Because it's all ... (*almost all*) ... off the record ... we are very selective about the moments we share from past shows.
Here is a look at the first 23 years of OTR programs and a glimpse
of some of the more iconic OTR scenes from the past.
Over the years, talented artists including Rob Rogers, Tim Menees, Daniel Marsula and Tim Hartman have produced artwork
for Off the Record program covers, logos, special cartoons, and other promotional materials.
Blasts from OTRs Past
Here is a glimpse of some pieces of long-ago shows that were (*almost all*) off the record.
